Leslie C. Shockley, Jr., 64, of Knoxville, Tennessee passed away on Thursday November 16th, 2017 at Park West Medical Center. Les was born May 17, 1953 and was a life-long resident of East Tennessee. He had a long successful career in the trucking industry and worked for companies such as Sentinel Transportation (Conoco) and finished his career as Knoxville Terminal Manager for Florida Rock and Tank Lines before retiring in 2014. Les is survived by his wife of 22 years, Tonja G. Shockley of Knoxville; three sons, Drew Shockley, wife, Jessica, and grandsons, Mason (8) and Max (6) of Evansville, Indiana; Ryan Brandenburg, wife, Lindsay, granddaughter, Marley (2) and grandson, Waylon (born September 2017) of Knoxville, Tennessee, currently serving in the US Coast Guard in Tawas, Michigan; and Blaine Shockley, Kimera Grissom, and grandson, Brooks (6) and grandson, Blaise (expected January 2018) of Knoxville, Tennessee. He is also survived by his mother, Edith Shockley of Knoxville, Tennessee and his only brother, Tony Shockley Sr., wife, Vetta, a number of nieces and nephews of Chattanooga, Tennessee, and countless family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Leslie C. Shockley, Sr., a number of special aunts, uncles and other family members which he dearly loved. Les was an avid golfer and taught many the love of the game. He also loved to fish and spend time with his sons and grandchildren. Les was well-known in the Knoxville area and was a friend to many. A Celebration of his life will be held for friends and family on Tuesday, November 21st, from 4-6pm at Berry Highland West, 9913 Sherrill Blvd. Knoxville, Tennessee, 37923.
