York, Larry Renford, age 74, of the Karns Community, passed away suddenly on Monday, December 8th, 2014. He was a member of the West End Church of Christ. Larry was a graduate of Bearden High School, Class of 1957 and from The University of Tennessee, 1961. He was a veteran of the United States Army. During his life, Larry was a friend and promoter of mission work in South Africa for the Churches of Christ. He was a member of the Knoxville Metropolitan Planning Commission and past president of Karns Community Club. Larry served many as their local Allstate agent. He never met a stranger. Larry gave his all everyday for God, Family, Friends, and the Community. He is preceded in death by parents, Phocian and Gladys York. He is survived by his wife Carolyn York, his daughter, Cammie York and three Scottish Terriers, family Frank and Jean Huber, Polly Huber, Bruce Jansen, Chip and Jessica Huber, Darcy Huber, Bruce Jansen II., and by a host of other family members and friends. The family will receive friends on Thursday, December 11th, 2014 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at West End Church of Christ, 8301 E. Walker Springs Lane, Knoxville, TN 37923. Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 12th, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at Berry Highland Memorial Funeral Home, with Larry’s best friend Minister Jerry Hogg officiating.
