Kendall Michelle King, 32, of Knoxville, died on Monday, September 12, 2016, from injuries sustained while hiking in Canyonlands National Park, in Utah. Kendall had a beautiful smile and a beautiful soul that will be cherished and missed by many family and friends.
Kendall graduated from Karns High School in 2003. She was a member of the Ensemble, and loved singing Alto alongside many of her cherished friends. Some of her favorite memories as a teenager were made with the members of the Ridgedale Baptist Church Youth Group. Kendall graduated from UT with a BA in English Literature in 2007. Kendall and her sister, Brittany had a bond that will never be broken or replaced. Kendall was very close with her cousin, Garan. She enjoyed their special relationship and their late night talks over the world’s best coffee. She enjoyed hiking, traveling, and photography. Her passion was writing poems and short stories and reading books.
Kendall is preceded in death by her boyfriend, Brian Bauer; grandfathers, Wayne King and Gordon Holland. She is survived by her father and mother, Steve and Kim King; sister Brittany (Sam) Parkman; grandmothers, Mary King and Carolyn Holland; aunt Tammy (Daryl) Walker and cousins, Dustin and Garan Brown; uncle Ricky (Rosie) Holland; uncle Ronald (Jane) King; special friend Diane Santus; several cousins and many lifelong friends.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, September 18 at Weaver Funeral Home: 5815 Western Ave, Knoxville, TN 37921. Receiving friends will be from 2-4pm, with beloved family friend Bill Chastain to deliver the memorial message afterwards. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Relational Healing Ministries, 8021 Middlebrook Pike, Knoxville, TN 37909. RHM is a 501c3 non-profit ministry.
