John Earl Yoder, age 63, of Knoxville, Tennessee went home to be with Jesus on Monday, September 20, 2021. John Earl loved his dirt track race car family and spent the last 50 years deeply involved in the racing community. He also loved finding a good deal on tools and spent countless hours buying and selling his daily finds. He was a gentle soul and was loved by many in the community. His selfless nature was his most admired trait that made him someone everyone could depend on. He will be greatly missed by all.
Preceded in death by his parents, Hubert and Gladys Yoder; brothers, Howard Yoder, Jim Yoder, Donald Yoder, Horace Yoder, Michael Yoder; and sister, Pat Kress.
John Earl is Survived by sisters, Shirley Davis, Sharon Nichols and Karen Frost; special nephew, Danny Yoder (Susie); special great-nephews, Danny Yoder, Jr. (Amey), Joshua Yoder (Lydia), Kevin Frost (April); special niece Jennifer Miller (John); numerous nieces and nephews; and lifelong friends.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, September 23, 2021 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at Berry Highland Memorial, 5315 Kingston Pike, Knoxville, TN 37919. A Funeral Service will follow at 7:00 PM, officiated by Pastor Bobby Thompson. Family and friends will gather in Berry Highland Memorial Cemetery for a Graveside Service on Friday, September 24, 2021 at 1:00 PM.
