Norton, John William “JW” – age 78 of Corryton, passed away on Tuesday, May17, 2011 at UT Hospital. He was a member of Spiritual Baptist Church and served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. The way he loved family, gardening, farming, horses and working hard made everyone smile! He was preceded in death by parents, Earl and Trula Norton; wife, Norma “Jean” Herd Norton in 1995; children, John W. Norton, Jr. and Jeffrey Norton; brothers, Charles, Bobby, and Jimmy Norton; sisters: Pamela and Rachel Norton, Charlotte Pinion, Helen Adams and Melissa Swann. Survivors include wife, Judy Horn Norton; children: Destry Dangerfield of Corryton, Trula Jenkins of Tualatin, OR, Christina (Charles) Brenner of Friendsville, TN; grandchildren: Jason (Jessica) Jenkins of Colorado, Seth, Tate and Spencer Jenkins of Oregon, Andrew, Caitlan and Kelcey Beeler of TN, and Jeffrey Norton; great-grandsons, Caden and Liam Jenkins; sisters: Shirley Evans and Jeannette Lawson; brothers: Mike, Randy and Brad Norton; step-mother, Anna Grace Norton; special nephew, Scott Norton; and special friends, A.J. and Alene Raeder and Bill Jones. The family will receive friends from 5-7 pm on Saturday, May 21st at McCarty-Evergreen Funeral Home. A memorial service will follow at 7pm with Pastor Clifford Fraker officiating.
