Lawson, John Dudley, (JD), age 68, of Knoxville, went to be with the Lord peacefully at home on Thursday, July 22, 2010. He was of the Baptist faith and retired from Knox County Engineering Department. John loved fishing and golfing and being with his family. John was preceded in death by his parents, Helen and Earl Lawson, and grandmother, Ella Burchfield. He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Peggy (Walker) Lawson; sons and daughters-in-law, John and Shirley Lawson and Brian and Jody Lawson; daughters and sons-in-law, Cindy and Greg Beckham and Connie and Thommy Baker; grandchildren: Tania, Jacob, Gabrielle, and Abigail; brothers, Bill, Don, and Jerry and wife Charlotte; sisters, Betty Kerley, Charlotte and husband Bobby Bright; Ann and husband Jack Simpson, and Earlene and husband, Jack Watson; several nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends in the chapel of Berry Funeral Home on Monday from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM with the funeral service to follow at 8:00 PM, Rev. Clarence Gresham officiating.
