John Edison (Papa) Jones

JOHN EDISON JONES age 76 of Knoxville, passed away Saturday, April 13, 2013 at his home. He was a member of Trinity Baptist Church, a U.S. Navy Veteran and was retired from Lockheed Martin Energy Systems Y-12 Plant. John (Papa) loved his family dearly. He also loved living on Beaver Creek the last 46 years, tinkering in his garage and playing his guitar. Preceded in death by parents, Edison and Ella Jones. Survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Rose Edwards Jones; daughters, Johnnie (Dennis) Keck and Kathy (Dennis) Irwin; grandchildren, Justin (Markita) Keck, Derek (Ashley) Keck, and Joel, Erica and Nathan Irwin; great-grandchildren, Noah, Jaylea and Eli Keck; sisters, Shelba Jones, Lou Ella (Winfred) McCormick, Minnie (Bobby) Adams and many others from the Jones and Edwards families. The family will receive friends 5-7 pm Tuesday at Weaver’s Chapel with the service to follow at 7 pm. His grandson, Rev. Justin C. Keck will officiate. Family and friends will meet at 10:45 am Wednesday at Lynch Bethel Cemetery for an 11 am interment.
