John Charles "Jack" Black Sr., age 86, of Knoxville, Tennessee passed away on Sunday, April 20, 2025. He was a member of North Knoxville Baptist Church for 41 years. Jack was an avid hunter and fisherman. He supported all UT Volunteer sports and enjoyed watching NASCAR. Jack's father was a Purple Heart and Bronze Star recipient who instilled in Jack a love and respect for all veterans and active military.
Jack was preceded in death by parents, Raymond and Elma Black; sisters, Helen (James) Clowers, Nancy Walker, Susie Reynolds; brother, Raymond L. (Shirley) Black; brother-in-law, Charles "Jam-up" White; sister-in-law, Katherine Black; nephew, Randy Clowers. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Jerry Black; son, Johnny (Joy) Black; daughter, Vicki Flynn; grandsons, Hunter and Colby Flynn; sister, Judy White; brothers, James and Michael (Dolly) Black; brothers-in-law, Riley Reynolds and Glenn Walker; a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
Family will receive friends Friday, April 25th from 6-8pm at Berry Lynnhurst Funeral Home. A private graveside service will take place at Lynnhurst Cemetery with Rev. Andrew Wharton officiating.
