Jesse E. York, Jr. was born on April 6, 1940 and passed away on November 13, 2016. He was in the United States Navy and was employed by Blount County Sheriff’s Office. Jesse retired from United Parcel Service. Former Employee of Hamblen County Sheriff’s Department and Knox County Sheriff’s Office. He was a 50 year member of the Scottish Rite and Mason with the Morristown Masonic Lodge 767. He was the Associate Patron of Martha Washington Order of the Eastern Star #231. He was a member of Tennessee Law Enforcement Association. He was preceded in death by his father, Jesse E. York, Sr.; mother, Edith York; brother, Jack M. York; sister, Helen York. Survived by wife, Lou York; son, Timothy (Jackie) York; daughter, Marian York; granddaughter, Sarah York; grandsons, Patrick (Kaitlyn) York; USMC Cpl. Sean York; step granddaughters, Emily (Travis) McKinney, Mariah Walker; great granddaughter, Riley; great grandsons, Elijah and Asher; step great- granddaughter, Adalynn; niece, Kathy Hickman and son Travis Hickman; nephew, Jesse (Sherry) York III. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, November 16, 2016, from 5:00pm until 7:00pm at Berry Funeral Home, 3704 Chapman Highway, with a Masonic and funeral service to follow at 7:00pm. Family and friends will meet at Berry Funeral Home on Thursday, November 17, 2016 at 10:00am to go in procession to Woodlawn Cemetery for an 11:00am graveside service.
