Elaine Williams Luttrell, Age 69, of Knoxville, passed away on October 21, 2015. She was preceded in death by her parents, James Earl and Allene McGhee Williams. Mrs. Luttrell attended Holston High School and graduated from the University of Tennessee in 1968 with a degree in Choral Music Education. She retired in 2008 after 25 years at Karns Middle School, completing a 40 year career in teaching choral music. All of her students were treated with equal love and respect. Elaine served as choir director in several United Methodist Churches. Elaine was an advocate for music education, animal rights and for women and children. She was an avid reader and her passion in life was for her family, music and books. Survivors include her husband of 47 years, Samuel Maynard Luttrell; son, James Samuel Luttrell and wife Heather, along with their children: Brittani, Zachary and Jimmy; daughter, Laura Beth Shands and husband Paul, along with their children: Kelci and Landon; brothers: James Earl Williams, Jr. and wife Debby and Andrew Keith Williams and wife Nancy; sister-in-law, LeAnn Luttrell Trotter and husband Truman, along with several nieces, nephews and a host of loving friends. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. in the chapel of Berry Highland West Funeral Home. A Memorial Service will follow at 6:00 p.m. with Rev.
