Jay G. Estep, age 86 of Knoxville, formerly of Butler, TN, left his earthly home Monday, October 5, 2015, to walk the streets of gold. He was a devoted, honorable and loving husband, a wonderful father, grandfather and great grandfather, known as Pampie to many. Jay was an active member of Beaver Dam Baptist Church and Tennessee Baptist Convention Disaster Relief. He was employed by Roddy Coca-Cola where he retired after 40 years. Jay operated concessions at the University of Tennessee for 50 years. Never one to sit and watch the grass grow, Jay stayed active in retirement as an employee of Tennessee Florist Supply and running a successful lawn care business. He served on the Fountain City Recreation Commission where he coached little league baseball and softball for many years. Jay was preceded in death by father, Wilburn J. Estep and mother, Golda Estep. He is survived by wife of 28 years, Jean Estep. Children, Stan Estep and wife Diane of Knoxville, Carmen Bean and husband Frank of South Carolina, Lisa Paul of North Carolina, Brian Day of Knoxville, Michael Day and wife Teresa of Knoxville, Sharon Mikkola and husband Korey of McMinnville. Grandchildren, Scott and Beth Estep, Eric and Jennifer Estep, Sherri and Ronny Watson, Kristi and Chris Moore, Brandon and Emma Perry, Angel McDuffie, Andrew Phillips, Lindsey Day, Leslie Day, Marissa Mikkola, Derek Mikkola, Ethan Mikkola and Emily Mikkola; 15 great grandchildren; brother, Hillie Estep of Georgia; sisters, Lillian Lowe of Mountain City, TN and Betty Huddleston of Butler, TN; several nieces and nephews and many other loved ones and friends.

The family will receive friends from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday at Beaver Dam Baptist Church with the funeral service to follow. Dr. Alan Price and Dr. Charles Earl will officiate. Family and friends will meet Friday at 10:40 a.m. at Greenwood Cemetery for an 11:00 a.m. graveside service. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
