Monroe County pioneer son, James Michael “Mike” Wooldridge passed away the afternoon of October 29, 2021 in Knoxville, TN where he had lived and worked in the electronics and communications industry for many years. Born in Madisonville, TN he was the first child of James Marcus and Betty Lovelace Wooldridge. He is survived by his loving wife, Alice White Wooldridge and children, Kelly Hilliard (Brian), Jackie Sharp (Revel), Stacey Coker (Mark) and Matthew Wooldridge; six grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Mother, Betty Lovelace Wooldridge; siblings, Susan Wooldridge (James Ilardi, Deborah Graf (Robert) and Chuck Wooldridge (Beverly and niece Sara). Mike graduated from Madisonville High School and studied at Hiwassee College and University of Tennessee, notably going to Washington and lobbying for the right to be able to get satellite TV for the home. He was successful! He is remembered by his West Knoxville community as a coach for youth sports. He was an army veteran serving in Viet Nam. Mike is lovingly remembered by his family and friends for his steadfast affection and support. He is deeply missed. The family will receive friends 5-7pm Sunday, November 7, 2021, at Weaver Funeral Home. Family and friends will meet at 9:45 am Monday, November 8, 2021, at East Tennessee Veterans Cemetery on Gov. John Sevier Hwy. for a military service at 10 am.
