James M. "Buck" Blalock Jr., age 78, of Knoxville, Tennessee passed away on Thursday, December 7, 2023. Buck was born in Norton, Virginia on June 19, 1945 to the late James M. Blalock, Sr. and Helen Opal Greear Blalock.
Buck was a 1963 graduate of Holston High School. He was the former owner of Standard Pipe and Supply which served the East Tennessee community for 35 years until he sold the business and joined his daughter, Jenny, in her company Luxe Homes & Design and built custom luxury homes. Buck and Jenny later founded Plantation Reclaimed specializing in hardwood flooring.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his daughter, Jenny Kate Blalock.
Buck was a member of Stock Creek Baptist Church and strong in his faith in Jesus. His family is taking great comfort in knowing that he and his daughter, Jenny were together when they met their Lord and Savior!
He enjoyed golfing, fishing, and preparing a good meal on the grill.
Buck is survived by his wife of 58 years, Gloria K. Blalock; son, Tim Blalock; daughter and son-in-law, Kelly and Brian Norris; granddaughter, Ainsley Norris; sister-in-law, Gail Clark, and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Thursday, December 14, 2023 from 5-7 pm at Sevier Heights Baptist Church with a Celebration of Life service to follow at 7 pm. Rev. Don Wilson and Rev. Charlie McNutt officiating. Family and friends will meet at Stock Creek Cemetery 11 am, Friday, December 15, 2023 for graveside services.
