Jim was born in Knoxville, TN, to Herman and Lula Estelle Lynch. He was the third youngest of thirteen children. Jim was a devoted father, a loyal friend, and a man who brought joy to those around him. As a young man, he served in the Navy before working as a salesman and later at H&R Block, where he helped many in South Knoxville and Seymour file their taxes. He was a passionate softball coach for many years, a familiar face at Bower Field, and a proud member of the Kerbela Shrine, where he volunteered as a clown alongside some of his brothers, bringing smiles to children at parades and hospital visits. Known for his quick wit and sharp mind, Jim had a gift for making others laugh.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sibling brothers John, Bob, Henry, Paul, and Bill; sisters, Alma, Nancy, and Cathy.
He is survived by his daughters, Lesley (Scott) Haynes, Tiffany (Dan) Dougherty; sisters, Sue and Ruby; granddaughters Jessica Johnson, Brittney Fred, Madeline Dockertinez, and Lily Dougherty; great-granddaughters, Eleanor and Hazel, and many extended family members and friends who will miss him dearly.
