He is preceded in death by parents: James Robert Lowe and Della MacMahan Lowe; sisters: Betty Jones, Polly Wittenbarger; wife of 65 years Jewel Wilson Lowe; sons: Gary (Lois) Lowe, Jimmy (Teresa) Lowe and daughter, Linda.
He is survived by his sons: Tommy (Jane) Lowe, Mike (Susan) Lowe; daughter Phyllis (Gary) Gitschlag, as well as 12 grandchildren and 31 great grandchildren.
He was the founding owner of Lowe’s Auto Parts, Lowe’s wrecker Service, Chapman Enterprises, Lowe’s Radiator Shop to name just a few. He earned his private pilot’s license and was passionate about flying his various planes for both business and pleasure. Ed was both a Shriner and a 32nd degree Mason of 60 years.
A visitation for James will be held Friday, March 24, 2023 between the hours of 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM in the parlors of Berry Funeral Home at 3704 Chapman Hwy, Knoxville. Family and friends will meet Saturday, March 25, 2023 at Valley Grove Cemetery, 9000 Sevierville Pike 37920 for an 11:00 AM graveside service officiated by Rev. Denny Ford. In lieu of flowers the family requests any donations be made to the American Heart Association, 7272 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, TX 75231 or your favorite charity.
