James "Jimmy" Hart, age 68, of Knoxville, Tennessee passed away on Tuesday, February 21, 2023 after a lengthy illness. He achieved the rank of Sergeant in the U.S. Air Force where he served in Security Police as a Dog Handler. After his military service, he worked security for Y-12 National Security Complex where he retired after 23 years of faithful service.
He was preceded in death by mother, Julia Hart. Jimmy is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Janice Hart; daughters, Jessica (Craig) Banks and Amanda (Travis) Biggs; grandchildren, Patrick, Grayson and Cora Banks, Garner Hart, Lilly and Jaxson Biggs; brother, Victor (Jeannie) Hart; sister, Kimberly Hart Mendenhall (Kevin Gross); numerous nieces and nephews; and long time friend, Gary Bayless.
Family will receive friends Thursday, February 23rd from 5-7pm at Berry Lynnhurst Funeral Home with funeral service to follow at 7pm with Rev. Joey Walker to officiate. Graveside service will take place Friday, February 24th at 3pm at Lynnhurst Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions to St. Jude Children's Hospital at www.stjude.org.
