James Leonard Ernst, age 93, of Pigeon Forge, Tennessee passed away on Monday, September 9, 2024.
James was born in Tewksbury, MA. He moved to Bolton MA, in a Model T and horse and buggy, where he lived for 83 years. James served in the United States Navy, where he developed a sense of duty and discipline that characterized his later years. He worked at GM for many years as a crane rigger and later enjoyed carpentry. He loved building and racing Class B race cars and gardening, and always had a backyard filled with a variety of plants and vegetables. James was also an avid dog owner and shared a strong bond with his dog, JJ, enjoying daily walks and outdoor activities together.
James is preceded in death by his wife, Mary and longtime companion, Pat. He is survived by his son, Douglas Ernst; grandchildren, Doug and Jamiann; great grandchildren, Axel and Lucy and his beloved dog, JJ.
A celebration of James life will be held at a later date.
