James Timothy “Tim” Connors, age 63, went to be with Jesus early on the morning of October 18th. He was a beloved husband, father, and papaw preceded in death by his parents, Jim Connors and Frances Cameron Connors; brother, Tony Connors. He is survived by his wife, Susan Connors; daughters, Leigh Ann Stephens and Leslie Connors and granddaughter, Anna Grace Stephens, along with several nieces and nephews. Tim was a deacon and faithful member of Beaver Dam Baptist Church in Halls. He was a dedicated teacher for Knox County Schools for 30 years, coaching high school football at Central and Fulton High Schools, and was avidly involved in the FCA. He also enjoyed hiking and camping with his family and hiking crew, Team Rainmaker, and was known as “Flame Man” on the Appalachian Trail. The family would like to thank the Beaver Dam Baptist Church family for their kind and loving care of Tim, as well as, Tennessee Cancer Specialist through his lengthy battle with cancer. Family and friends will gather for a graveside service on Thursday, October 20, 2016 at 1:00pm in Sherwood Memorial Gardens in Alcoa, Tn. A celebration of life service will be held on Friday, October 21st at Beaver Dam Baptist Church, 4328 E. Emory Rd, Knoxville, Tn. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00pm with the service to follow.
