

Westbrook, Jack King 92 of Knoxville, TN went to be with his Heavenly Father on Friday, April 8, 2016. Jack was a longtime member of First United Methodist Church of Knoxville. He received his Bachelors Degree from the University of Tennessee. Jack accepted a position with UT as Program and News Director of WUOT radio station. He joined the military in the fall of 1942 and was a P-51 pilot flying missions over Iwo Jima. On August 27, 1971, Jack received his commission as COL. He retired on September 19, 1983 at the age of 60. Jack was a member of the East TN Military Affairs Council, Sons of the Revolution, Million Dollar Round Table lifetime member, AFA Man of the year for 1987, Insurance Hall of Fame, West Knoxville Sertoma Club for over 50 years and manager of Greater TN Sportsman Show for over 20 years. He was instrumental in starting the Veteran’s Day Luncheon in Knoxville. Jack was preceded in death by parents, Carl Leslie and Eulah Bell Westbrook; sisters, Sarah Dene and Robbye Lee; son, Matthew King Westbrook. He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Willie Mae Westbrook; daughter, Haven (Michael) Jenkins; granddaughter, Caitlin Jenkins; grandson; Lawson Jenkins; several nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends Tuesday, April 12th from 2-4pm at Berry Highland Memorial on Kingston Pike with service immediately following at 4pm. Rev. Gordon Ridenour and Rev. Tom Seay to officiate. Interment will take place Wednesday April 13th at 1pm at Berry Highland Memorial Park.
