Imogene Carol Myers, age 84, of Knoxville, passed away Monday, April 4, 2016. She was a 60 year member of Central Baptist Church of Bearden, where she served as Deacon. She was a member of Order of the Eastern Star #437. She attended Riceville Grammar School, McMinn County High School and University of Tennessee. She retired from Knoxville Technology Center, where she served as director/instructor of the Dental Assisting Program. "Mama Myers" was a teacher, friend, and mentor to a generation of dental assisting students. She held different offices on the local and state level of Second District and Tennessee Dental Assistants Associations. She also served 5 years as a member of the Tennessee State Licensing Board for Hearing Aid Dispensers. Imogene was also a member of First Families of Tennessee.Preceded in death by husband, D. Lloyd Myers; siblings, Lucille Snyder and Leon Partain. She is survived by son, David Myers and wife Barbara; grandson, Andrew Myers; granddaughter, Holly Myers and friend Sean Hackett; brother, Lewis Partain and wife Alice; special niece, Janet Rogers and family The family will receive friends Thursday, April 7 from 1:00-2:00 pm with the funeral service to follow at Berry Highland Memorial Funeral Home. Dr. Larry Fields and Rev. Mark Moreland will officiate. Interment will follow at Berry Highland Memorial Cemetery.
