Imogene R. Cox

.Imogene R. Cox passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Saturday, June 24th 2023. She is finally home in the kingdom of Heaven with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She was a member of Callahan Road Baptist Church. She was a past Matron of Beaver Ridge #320 O. E. S., dispatcher for the Karns Volunteer Fire Department, member of the Oak Ridge Women’s Rescue Squad and a Cub Scout Den Mother. The family is at peace knowing that she is reunited with her husband Glenn R. Cox who went home before her. Imogene was a fun loving woman who enjoyed playing games with her friends and family, traveling, going camping, going to church, and always loving on her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents James H. and Kate Rayfield, sisters Beatrice, Christine Hibbert, Geraldine, Wanda Sue and brother James Edward and her husband Glenn R. Cox. Survived by children Steve Cox, Nancy and Steve Underwood, Brenda Owens, and Kathy and Rick Adams. Grandchildren Jamie Underwood, Joshua Owens, Stephanie Benko, Michael Adams, and Jennifer McBee and their spouses as well as eleven great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren due in November.

The family will receive friends at Weaver’s Funeral Home at 5815 Western Ave. from 6-7pm July 1st, 2023 followed by a service at 7pm. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am July 2nd, 2023 at Oak Ridge Memorial Park. Pastor Mark Sasser will officiate.
