Howard "Gene" Eugene Reynolds, Jr., age 89, of Knoxville, passed away on Friday, October 25, 2024 at the University of Tennessee Medical Center. Gene was born in Elk Valley, TN to Howard and Katheryn Reynolds. He was a 1956 graduate of Tennessee School for the Deaf. He attended Harrison Chilhowee and Carson-Newman University. Gene retired from TVA in 1995, where he worked as a Printer.
Gene had an early calling to tell others about his Jesus. He was a missionary for the deaf in California and Missouri. In 1957, he had the privilege of being on stage at Ridge Crest Christian Conference with Billy Graham. Gene was a former member of First Baptist Church of Knoxville from an early age, where he met his wife, Minnie and vacation bible school. The last 30 years he was a member of Temple Baptist Church of Powell. Gene was an active in the deaf ministry teaching the gospel and sign language. He led many to come to Christ. He touched so many lives.
Gene is preceded in death by his loving wife of 57 years, Minnie (Jeffries) Reynolds and parents, Howard and Katheryn Reynolds. Gene is survived by his daughter, Jessica Reynolds (Clyde Berry); granddaughter, Nora Elizabeth Berry; bonus grandson, Jonathan Edward Berry; brother, Stan Reynolds (Janet); sister, Kathy Winstead (Lawrence); brother, Phil Reynolds (Donna) and many beloved nieces and nephews.

Receiving of friends will be held at Temple Baptist Church on Friday, November 8, 2024 from 5-7pm with a funeral service to follow. A graveside service will be held at Berry Highland West Cemetery on Saturday, November 9, 2024 at 11am.
