Ms Helen, I know that you are in a better place now. But that dosen't mean that i'm not going to miss you. You really were like a grandma to me. I am going to miss your famous baking. Like the bannana bread and the pumkin pie that i fought my mom over and eat it all that night. I think it's safe to say that nothing you ever made me or mom would live to see morning. I am going to miss you. you were always so sweet to me. It's just so sad that our plans will never see tommrow. I loved you then and i still love you now. I am really going to miss you. But i know that you are safe and happy now. Up at home with your family. You will always stay in my heart and knowing you has made me a better person. I Love You Ms. Hellan.

Helen was an "original".....We won't see her sweetness and humor again.  She always could make me smile....Even when gathering for my sister's memorial, Helen came to me with a cake..,and sympathy that affected me profoundly,  I loved her.
We, of the Class of '56, had an angel 
among us. She was a blessing to us all.

I became very close friends with Helen over the last few years and always laughed at her and Pats wild stories about Sharp's Ridge. She will be missed very much by all her classmates. I will keep the entire family(including Pat) in my prayers.
