Hazel Arnwine, age 96 went to be with the Lord on February 17, 2017. She is preceded in death by her husband, Fielden; beloved daughter, Pamela Shipley; Father, Joel Ogle; Mother, Aura Ogle and siblings, Verl Sasser and Ted Ogle. Hazel was born in Gatlinburg, graduated from the University of Tennessee, and taught school at High Bluff, Klondike and White Schools for 30 years. She was a loyal, charter member of Southside Baptist Church and spent most Sunday mornings, Sunday evenings and Wednesday evenings at Church. Survived by dedicated son-in-law, Gary Shipley, granddaughter, Stephanie Milani and her husband Ryan, two great-grandchildren Ryan Patrick and Audrey. The family will receive friends 5-7 PM Tuesday, February 21, 2017 with a celebration of life service at 7 PM in the chapel of Berry Highland South Funeral Home. Rev. Clarence Gresham officiating. Family and friends will meet at 10 AM Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at Berry Highland South Cemetery for graveside services. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Island Home Park Health and Rehab Resident Fund, 1758 Hillwood Avenue, Knoxville, TN 37920. The family wishes to say a special thank you to the caregivers who allowed Hazel to live independently as long as possible as well as the caring staff at Island Home who treated her like family. Our sincere gratitude is extended to Holly and Alecia who were her closest caregivers and a constant source of comfort when she had to leave her home.
