DUNCAN, HARRY FREEMAN age 90 of Powell, went to be with his wife of 56 years, Lotus, on Wednesday, January 28, 2015. He served as a Medical Corpsman in the U.S. Navy during WWII and he was a Union Organizer for the United Mine Workers District 50 and retired from AFL-CIO Machinist Union. He is also preceded in death by his brother, Garland Duncan. Survived by children, Pamela and husband, John Stafford, Deborah Douglas, Robert Duncan and Cheryl Duncan; grandchildren, Amy (Randy) Mutter, Krista Baker, Ryan Duncan, Matthew (Meagan) Douglas, Rachel (Rick) Post and Emma Duncan; great-grandchildren, Cameron, Tristan and Caroline Mutter and Deborah Post; sister, Shirley Harris; sisters- and brothers-in-law, Joyce and Jimmy Johnson, Glenda and Ray Large and Rheta and Darrell Large; many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends 5-7 pm Friday at Weaver Funeral Home and 5-7 pm Saturday at Castlewood Funeral Home in Castlewood, VA. The funeral service will be held at 1 pm Sunday at Castlewood Funeral Home and proceed to Temple Hill Memorial Park for the burial following the service.
