Gladys “Evelyn” Sims, age 93 of Knoxville entered her Heavenly Home on Monday, May 23, 2022. Evelyn was born in 1928 in Vonore, Tennessee. Evelyn is a retiree of Bell South, where she held numerous job assignments during her career.
In the early 1980's, Evelyn and husband Ross moved to their new chalet in Gatlinburg, where they enjoyed many years in retirement. Evelyn especially enjoyed gardening, hiking in the Smoky Mountains and finding wild flowers. Her favorite color was purple. Evelyn was a member of Beaver Creek Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Powell.
Evelyn is survived by daughters Sara Bradley (Ron), Judy Pruett (Jeff), grandaughters Stephanie Brock (Matt), Brittany Beeler (Chad), grandson Adam Christopher, and two great granddaughters. Evelyn was preceded in death by parents Myra Mayo Clemmer and Ben H. Clemmer; husband Ross Sims, Jr.; son Mike Christopher, brother J. C. Clemmer, sisters June Blaine, Barbara Peters and Arneta Wright.

A funeral service will be held for Evelyn on Tuesday, May 31, 2022 at 12 noon at the Mausoleum Chapel up on the hill at Berry Highland Memorial Cemetery on Sutherland Avenue, with Dr. Alan Smith officiating. A dove release symbolic of angels carrying Evelyn to Heaven will follow.
