Gerald Wade Scates “General” age 70 of Knoxville, passed away January 27, 2024 at his home. Preceded in death by his father, Henry Scates. Survived by mother, Pearl Scates daughters, Melissa (Shannon) Stone and Nicole Nelson; grandchildren, Whitney (Collin) Sharp, Kyleigh (Devon) Hunt, Caleb, Ethan and Taylor Nelson; great-grandson, Ledger Hunt; sister, Marlene (Tom) Dotson; nephews, Daniel and Derick (Andrea) Dotson. A special thanks to his cousin and caregiver, Stanley Garner and a special hospice nurse, Beth Donahue for their care. The family will receive friends 4-6 pm Thursday at Weaver’s Chapel with the service to follow at 6 pm.
