George R. Turner

George Ronald Turner, age 88, passed away May 23, 2023 after a cancer battle. He lived in Knoxville, Tennessee the last 45 years. He was born in West Virginia and grew up in Pennsylvania. George graduated from Shickshinny High School before joining the military. He was a proud veteran of the Vietnam War and retired after 24 years from the army as a First Sergeant. After retirement, he received a degree in business from Tennessee Tech University. George loved working on his home and yard, talking to anyone he met and sought out other former military members. George leaves behind his wife Lyn; sons, Steve and Ronald; daughter, Kathie; stepson, John Stacey; step daughter, Michele Stacey; daughters-in-law, Sissie and Francie Stacey; 4 grandchildren and 2 step grandchildren; brother, Eddie and sister-in-law Doreen. The family will receive friends Tuesday, May 30, 2023 from 6 pm 7 pm with the funeral service to follow. Graveside service will be 11 am Wednesday, May 31, 2023 at Lynnhurst Cemetery.
