George "Howard" Howard Maples

Maples, George Howard 84 of Knoxville, TN passed away Saturday, January 11, 2020. Howard was a devoted husband and father who was always there to help anyone in need. He was a member of Valley Grove Baptist Church on Ball Camp Pike. Howard retired at the age of 76 after working as an offset pressman for several area printing companies. He was preceded in death by his devoted wife of 63 years, Della Rose; parents, John and Lodie Maples; sister, Bobbie Hill; brothers, Jim and Billy Maples. He leaves behind beloved children; Larry (Cherish) Maples, Tony (Lynda) Maples, Lisa (Charlie) Sanford; sister, Joyce (Gary) Long; brother, Johnny (Nancy) Maples; nieces and nephews. George was the proud Papaw of 9 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. The family will receive friends Friday, January 24th from 5:30-7:00pm with a Celebration of Life service to follow at 7:00pm at Harvest Point Church at Valley Grove, 7419 Ball Camp Pike, Knoxville, TN 37931. The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of The University of TN Medical Center Hospice Services for providing loving and professional care for Howard.
