McLemore, T.E. “Gene” – age 72, of Knoxville, passed away peacefully at home Friday, February 20, 2015. Gene retired from the City of Knoxville Revenue Dept. with 31 years of service. He attended Callahan Road Baptist Church; was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during the 60’s; and an active and devoted member of East Tennessee Veterans Honor Guard. During retirement, Gene was an active member of the Volunteer Street Rod Association. One of his special loves was his beloved greyhound, Easy. Preceded in death by parents, Paul and Nadine McLemore. Survived by devoted wife of 26 years, Beverly “Jean”; son and daughter-in-law, Brian and Sarah Jo Bounds; daughter, Denise; grandchildren, Haven, Parker, and Steven; brother-in-laws, Greg (Traci) Day and Donnie and (Jill) Day; several nieces and nephews; cousins, Libby, Sharon, and Eddie; and several special aunts and uncles. Family will receive friends Monday, February 23, 2015 from 6:00-8:00pm in the Chapel of Berry Funeral Home, Chapman Highway. The funeral service will follow at 8:00pm with Pastor Marc Sasser officiating. Family and friends will meet at Berry Funeral Home Tuesday, February 24, 2015 at 10:00am to go in procession to Prospect Cemetery for an 11:00am graveside service.
