Gay Blackwell Hummel

Hummel, Gay, age 49, of Knoxville, passed away Wednesday, October 20, 2010. Pursuing her passion in life and love for animals, Gay was a Master Dog Groomer for Lovell Animal Hospital. She was a very caring person that would make great personal sacrifices for friends and/or anyone in need. She was a loving, devoted and supportive wife to her soul mate of 23 years, a wonderful mother and an adoring grandmother. Preceded in death by her grandmother, Babe Blackwell. Survivors include her loving husband, Rocky Hummel; son, Donnie P. Sigur, Jr., step-daughter, Shellie Walton and husband, Bobby; grandson, Donnie P. Sigur, III; father, Robert Blackwell and mother, Jane Blackwell; brothers, Mark and Scott Blackwell; sister, Gwen Ledger; grandfather, James “Blacky” Blackwell; father-in-law, Fred Hummell, Jr. and Linda Hummel; mother-in-law, Marlene Hummel. She is also survived by her 3 Jack Russel Terriors, Stalker, Bean and Racer; and a host of special friends. The family will receive friends Sunday from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM, with a memorial service to follow at 4:00 PM, in the chapel of Berry Funeral Home, with Pastor Mike Parker officiating.
