Farideh was an active woman that pursued careers in both education and healthcare. She studied nursing in Germany where she received her MSN in Midwifery. As a midwife in both Germany and Iran, Farideh helped bring countless new lives into the world. As a midwife at Madaran Specialized Hospital, Farideh paved the way for maternal healthcare in Tehran. She was a professor of German Language at the College of Engineering at the German Embassy School of Tehran and worked with the Iranian Ministry of Education.
In 1994, Farideh and her husband, Ziaollah Alemzadeh, retired to Knoxville where she served as a substitute teacher at Bearden High School.
She had a green-thumb and enjoyed tending to the garden, hosting gatherings for friends and family, and taking-in the view of her yard with her dog Boogie.
Farideh was an independent and outspoken woman, loved and respected by her community. Her legacy survives through her children, grandchildren, and friends with whom she shared cherished moments and words of wisdom.
Visitation will be held at Berry Highland Memorial on Tuesday October 15th from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm at Highland Memorial Park, 5315 Kingston Pike, Knoxville, Tennessee; followed by graveside service at 3:00 pm.
