I married her nephew, Larry, and we spent some time at Aunt Ruth's home and her parents home.  We had fun building a brick outdoor fireplace for her parents to burn safely and we talked always about our dogs.  She also sewed many items for me when I was young.  I miss speaking to her - we talked easily once a week. Aunt Ruth was a wonderful, kind, Christian woman with a "Moody" temper.

 30 years ago, I was a young girl getting married. I had big plans for my special day which,of course, included a beautiful dress. However,  two weeks before my wedding, something went wrong  with the order for my dress.  Someone suggested I contact Ruth to see if she could make me a dress.   Bless this dear woman, she made me a beautiful dress from scratch and saved the day!!!  She had such a sweet spirit about her.

Ruth was always so sweet with such a kind smile! She will be greatly missed at lunch and around the center.

Eva Ruth was a friend  and inspiration to me, serving her as a deacon was my pleasure. When visiting with her she would always tell people about her deacon which made me feel good, that was her way making others feel good. I will miss her but I know she is with her  Jesus and happier  than ever. I didn't  know her family but I know they must miss such a wonderful lady. God bless and keep them.


I have been a friend to Ruth for over forty years.  We have laughed and cried together many times.  She was always willing to share time with you and help anyway that she could.  She was a fabulous seamstress and could make or alter anything.  I'm going to miss her; but I know that she is happy in heaven as her love for Jesus Christ was the center of her life.  My thoughts and prayers are with Darrell,  Delma, and her entire family.  May God comfort you as only he can.


When marrying Larry 53 years ago, I had no idea of what a beautiful family I was marrying into especially getting to know Auntie Ruth.  Her love of dogs we shared.  I could not sew but she was perfectly willing to show me how and sew for me.  We had a lot of fun together building a not-so-straight outside brick fireplace so Mom and Dad Moody could burn papers safely.  Straight it was not but it certainly was functional.  We had fun playing ball and cooking together. Your favorite cookies/cake was orange slice cookies/cake and Larry and I made them and mailed them to you.  Your strong Christian faith is a legacy in itself.  My heart goes out to Darrell for his loss  and I pray he finds peace in the knowledge you are with your Lord Jesus Christ.    God speed. Eva Ruth was loved by all of my friends and family.  She played a part in every major event of my family since the 1990’s

She was always ready to jump into the car with me!    She had a great sense of humor,  sweet heart,  and was extremely talented.  

A true friend who will always be in my heart.  

I visited Mrs. Tipton with Watson, my HABIT dog, many times. She loved to pet and hold Watson. She always talked about her love of Dogs or on some days point to the pictures of Dogs in her room. Sometimes she would ask me to read her cards to her. She was a very sweet woman. Watson and I will miss our visits with her. We are thinking of her family and friends during this difficult time. God speed Ruthie!
