On August 12th this world lost a Godly man, Eugene (Gene) E. Bryant as Heaven gained a “perfectly pitched” choir member. Gene had a strong love for God, family and music. He was born in Norfolk, Virginia and spent his last 26 years in Knoxville, Tennessee. He was a member of Union Baptist Church. Gene spent many years as a master carpenter as he loved working with his hands. Music was his passion and although he would tell you that he couldn’t sing, he knew his music and enjoyed all kinds. Gospel music was his favorite. Gene is survived by his wife Louise Bryant of 63 years; sister, Linda Bratcher; two daughters, Melody Priest (Bob), Debbie Robinson (Robbie); five grandchildren, Gene (Brittany), Wes (Talia), Janeane, Megan, Chelsea; three great-grandchildren, Willow, Eva, and Lyric. A memorial service will be held at Union Baptist Church, 6701 Washington Pk, Knoxville, TN 37918 on Friday, August 17, 2018 at 4:00 pm. Family will receive friends after the service until 6:00 pm.
