Ethel Abe Curtis Collins passed from this life to go to her Heavenly home on Thursday, April 6, 2023. She was a faithful member of the Belmont Heights Baptist Church for over 80 years. In her early days she taught Sunday school and was very active in the Women's Missionary Society. Ethel was also an active member of the West View Community Club where she and several members met to write a book about the West View Community.
Ethel was preceded in death by her mother, Ella Mae Miller Curtis and father, Charles Raymond Curtis;
husband, Alfred W. Collins; daughter, Linda Mae Kinser; sisters, Katherine Ellison, Helen Romines, Anna Ruth Leach and Mary Witt; brothers, Bill Curtis, James Curtis and Ray Curtis. Surviving Ethel are her son, John Collins; grandchildren, Michael Kinser (Kim), Rebecca Bobo (Gary), Robert Collins (Treasure), Malinda Merkel (Vic), Christy Collins; great grandchildren, Ryan Kinser (Leslie), Tyler Kinser (Madalyn), Amy Walker, Andrew Berry (Amanda), Jessica Harvey (Tommy), Jackson Collins, Madison Merkel and Matthew Merkel; great-great grandchildren, Ava Berry, Madison Walker, Talynn Walker, Reece Pickel, Sophie Pickel, Cooper Luttrell, Haley Luttrell, Ella Kinser, Emery Kinser and great great great-grandchild Zeilin Beverly.
In lieu of flowers, Ethel asks that donations be made to Belmont Heights Baptist Church Senior sunday school class.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday April 8 at 1pm at Berry Highland Memorial Cemetery. Family will receive guests following the service at Ethel's home.
