Lynn and Betty Skelton a friend of many years.
Erma will surely be missed by many.  She was a lady of great faith and determination in this life on earth.  She truly made a difference in the lives of so many people.

I had the privilege to work with Erma for many years at Covenant Health.  In my early days at FSRMC, I enjoyed my visits to talk to my trio of payroll friends on the second floor—Erma, Judy and Joanne.  Later,  our family was so fortunate to attend FCUMC together. She blessed so many people with her kindness and ever-present smile.  I am truly grateful for her years of friendship.   Praying that you’ll find comfort in your memories of her and in the knowledge that others are missing her, too.

Erma was a dear friend that will be greatly missed. We shared many great times together. We loved her very much and considered her and Lewis part of our family.

So sorry to see this.  Erma was a school mate of mine thru 12 years of school.  We would run into each other occasionally and could stand and  talk  for ever.  She became a part of our Central High group for lunch  and at that time she was not married so we got to share in her happiness in finding Lewis and we were all excited for her new life.  So sorry it was short lived but she was very happy and loved him and her family.   She will be missed by all.    Hugs and prayer to her family.

To Brian and Jenny:     Over the past forty-six years, your mom was my co-worker, my friend, and (on many occasions I won't go into detail about) my co-conspirator in well-meaning but somewhat goofy adventures.  Because she told me more than once,  I happen to know that the happiest things about her life experiences were almost always related to  (as she put it) "getting to be the mother"  to the two of you.  She was more than proud that, as you evolved into independent  adults, you both so successfully learned to "not need her."  She and I shared the philosophy that parenting is a privilege -- the objective of which is  to guide the children entrusted into our care to think their own thoughts, go their own way, and become their own Person.  I know that the bravery and dignity through which she accepted and fought this last physical illness looms large in your hearts.  But know this:   Her life was a SUCCESS.  And the two of you are absolute proof of that.   She will be greatly missed by those of us lucky enough to have known her; but forever and always, whenever we think of your Mom, we will smile.

What do I remember about my Aunt Erma?  I remember her blue Chevy Malibu, her love of everything "daisy", her Beach Boys records (she ended up giving to me). I remember open-toes shoes and sundresses and perfect hair.  I remember teasing her about pretzels and grasshopper pie.  I remember her and her siblings gathered around the piano singing ol' time gospel songs from the Cokesbury hymnal.  I remember my brother and sister having cousins close to their age. (I just spent time hiding in the magnolia tree....)  I remember you, Aunt Erma - and miss you.

Dear Brian,
My heart is so very heavy right now.  I can't believe Erma is gone!  I don't know if you remember me, but you were in my second grade class at Fort Craig, and Erma was such a wonderful class mother!  I caught up to her perhaps 7 years ago when we were both involved with the KSL. She was always a warm friend to me, and I will miss her greatly!

I share your sorrow. . Erma was a very dear friend and longtime work cohort to my sister, Judy Poynter, who met Jesus 5 years ago. Erma was always  so sweet and kind ,and  she greeted everyone with a smile.
   My thoughts and prayers are with Lewis and the children. . May you feel God’s presence , His comfort, and His love  in a mighty way. The Psalms tell us that God is with the broken hearted. I know He keeps His promises.

I worked many years with Erma in the Payroll Department at Fort Sanders Hospital, and then at Covenant Health at Centerpoint.  She was a wonderful friend and co-worker.  My thoughts and prayers go to Brian and Jenny for the loss of their sweet Mother.  Lewis, you made Erma’s life complete, and I am so thankful to you for that.  God bless you all.
