Emma Marjorie Godfrey McCarrell

McCarrell, Emma Marjorie (Godfrey), age 79 of South Knoxville passed away Monday, March 7, 2011 at Ft. Sanders Regional Medical Center. She was a graduate of Young High School and member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church. Preceded in death by husband, Leonard Darrell “Blackie” McCarrell; parents, Otto and Mary Godfrey; brothers, Ray, Cecil and Otto, Jr. Godfrey. Marjorie was a very loving and caring mother and grandmother and will be missed greatly. She is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Kathy and Steve “Smoke” Smith, Debra McCarrell and Benny Jordan; son and daughter-in-law, Darris and Vanessa McCarrell; grandchildren, Casey Ray and husband Joshua, Amelia and Lucas McCarrell and Jeremiah Jordan. Family will receive friends 5:00-7:00 pm Thursday at Mt. Olive Baptist Church with a funeral service to follow at 7:00 pm, Dr. Deron Cobb officiating. Family and friends will meet Friday at Woodlawn Cemetery for an 11:00 am interment. Memorials may be made to Mt. Olive Baptist Church, 2500 Maryville Pike, Knoxville, Tennessee 37920.
