Sue retired from Allied Signal, formerly known as Jim Robbins Seatbelt Company. Sue was one of the kindest & most loving people you would meet. Her love for her family, friends and pets was one to be admired. Sue had many accomplishments in her life; however, one that her daughter was most proud of is when she underwent an experimental procedure “The Accucinch” to restore the shape of her heart, her willingness and selflessness to do this, has paved and will continue to pave the way for saving many lives. She was strong and independent; she was loving and kind and she made this world better for having known her. To know Sue was to love her. She had many special friends, special nieces and nephews that she would want acknowledged.
She is preceded in death by her husband James “Jay” Thomas Rogers, her parents Sadie Belle Trent Solomon and Ira Lee Solomon, her brothers Bob and James “Jim”, her sisters Mildred, Hazel, Catherine, Helen (Rene), and Effie. To mention her siblings, you have to mention her in-laws, whom she loved and thought of as her own Parnick and Dan Rogers, wife Laverne and Mamaw Ford.
She leaves behind her daughter Lori Jay Holmann and partner Donald R Johnson II, his 3 boys Jonathan, Scott and Danny, several special nephews and nieces, and friends. The family will receive friends Tuesday February 1st from 6-8pm at Berry Highland South, with a graveside service to be held Wednesday February 2nd at 11am. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Young William Animal Center in honor of Sue Rogers. A special thank you to Dr. Mike Ayers for always taking such good care of her.
