Elizabeth Ann Brown Anderson, age 88 of Knoxville, passed away May 19, 2024. She was born on December 5, 1935, to Jesse Groner Brown and Margaret Frances Tucker. She graduated from Karns High School in 1954. She met her husband Ivan Louis Anderson in Knoxville, and they married in Washington, DC on April 12, 1958. They lived in and raised their children in Prince George’s County, Maryland. They moved back to the Anderson home place in Knoxville when Ivan retired. Ivan passed away in 2017 after 58 years of marriage. Elizabeth was a homemaker, cook, gardener, and a fierce advocate and lifelong caregiver for her daughter, Robin. She loved family time and laughing. She had a fear of flying but overcame it at age 85 to attend her granddaughter Kea’s wedding in Oregon. She enjoyed her last years at the Lodge at Shannondale, surrounded by good friends and wonderful support staff who became like family.
Elizabeth was preceded in death by her parents Jesse and Margaret Brown; husband, Ivan Louis Anderson; daughter, Robin Anderson; siblings, Charles Aaron Brown, Margaret (Peggy) Rose Brown Roden, Virginia Ruth Brown Grills, and Jessie Maude Brown Gribbon. She is survived by three children: Kathryn Anderson (Walt) Cannon, Charles (Marnie Knox) Anderson, and Michael (Susanna Clarendon) Anderson, as well as six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life will be held Friday, 4:15 pm in the chapel of The Lodge at Shannondale, 801 Vanosdale Rd., Knoxville, TN 37909. Condolences are welcome at weaverfuneralservices.com.
