Eleanor Kay “Mimi” Hooks age 71 of Knoxville, passed away May 7, 2023. Member of Ridgedale Baptist Church. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Kay was known for her Sunday school teaching at Ball Camp Baptist Church and impacted the lives of many youth. She loved her flower garden and always had a new project outside for Bill to do. She also enjoyed cooking large wonderful meals for her family and never had a written recipe to share. Preceded in death by parents, LaRoy and Janet Nabors; brothers, John and Jack Nabors; daughter-in-law, Cheryl Hooks; sister-in-law, Barbara Jo Nabors; father and mother-in-law, William and Jean Hooks; Survived by loving husband, Billy Hooks; sons, Tim (Courtney), Brad (Mary) and Todd (Brandy); grandchildren, Elliot, Isaac, Ava, Rylan, Taygen, Talan, Tanner and Zeke; brothers, Shannon (Beverly) Nabors, Wayne Nabors and Buster (Connie) Nabors; sisters, Shirley Helton and Alice (Riley) Williams; special family friends, Elizabeth Hooks and Tinsey Meridieth; several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends 5-7 pm Thursday at Weaver’s Chapel with the service to follow at 7 pm. Rev. Mark McGill officiating. Family and friends will meet at 10:45 am Friday at Woodhaven Memorial Gardens for an 11 am interment. Pallbearers include Tim, Brad, Todd, Elliot, Isaac, Rylan, Talan and Tanner.
