She was a 1954 graduate of Young High School and a longtime member of Southside Baptist Church. Edna was a very caring and giving person. She enjoyed flower gardening, listening to music, watching cowboy movies, walking and spending time with family and friends.
Edna is preceded in death by her parents Nora and Robert Thurman; sister Mildred Hubbs; brother Rev. James Thurman.
She is survived by her husband David of 66 years; daughter Jeanette; son Scott (Deborah); sisters Dorothy Hinchey and Jo Pressley; grandchildren Aaron, Hayley, Nick (Rosie); great-grandchildren Nikao, John Michael, and Caleb. She also leaves behind several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service for Edna will be held Wednesday, August 16, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Mt Olive cemetery, 2400 Berry rd, Knoxville, TN 37920. The service will be officiated by Luke Wilkerson.
