Edith was one of 7 siblings. She attended Piedmont College and made Atlanta her home where she raised 3 children. She lost her son Alvin Moncrief in 1996.
Edith worked in the Purchasing Dept. at Fulton Co. Board of Education.
She married Louis Watt Jennings later in life and moved to Knoxville where she became part of the First Baptist Church of Knoxville family.
Preceded in death by parents, Mary and William Chitwood, and son Alvin Moncrief. Survived by daughters, Roslyn Hotard, Rise Pacacha and husband Mark; son, Jason Payne, wife, Hope , and daughter Ava; Bailey Moreland and husband, Kevin and 2 boys, Jaxon and Paxton; sisters, Susie Ausburn, Lucille Smith, and Annie Laudermilk and their families.
A Special thank you to the staff of Tennova Residential Hospice, Dan Andrews and Dave Ward for their special care and support.
There will be a memorial service at 2 pm Sunday at First Baptist Church of Knoxville. The family will receive friends in the Fellowship Hall following the service. Interment will be at Tennessee Veterans Cemetery, 2200 Gov. John Sevier Hwy at a later date.
