Edith M. Johnson (Blalock) Carr, age 87, of Chicago, Illinois passed away on Saturday, December 31, 2022. She was the first woman bus operator for CTA (Chicago Transit Authority) in 1974. Eddy was a member of Hope Community Bible Church in Park Ridge Illinois. She was preceded in death by parents, Henry and Eula Johnson; husband, Mike Carr; son, Jeffrey Dean. Eddy is survived by daughters, Donna Marie of McMinnvile, TN, Robin Lynn (Johnny O) of Murfreesboro, TN, Connie Elaine of Bartlett, Il and Karen Denise of Clarksville, TN; son, Steven Wayne of Chicago, Illinois; 11 grandchildren and over a dozen great-grandchildren; sister, Bernice (Ronald) of Knoxville, TN and many nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be Saturday January 7, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at Mt. Olive Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations to your nearest Dementia/Alzheimers organization.
