One of my fondest memories of Dean, Cpl. Cinnamon had gotten stuck in the elevator at K.C.J. Dean was tasked to take the elevator key and get him out on L1. I had just come into the jail for some administrative thing and was on L1 waiting for the elevator. Dean come in from the sallyport and began attempting to get the elevator key into the little hole to open the door. As we all know, Dean was slightly vertically challenged and was jumping up trying to hit the hole for the key! It was all I could do to keep from laughing out loud at the spectical! All this time, Cpl. Cinnamon was yelling for someone to get him out! I finally convinced Dean to let me help and we finally got Cpl.Cinnamon of the elevator. I will and do miss him. He leaves a big hole in our hearts that no one will fill. Rest easy my friend.

 Prayers go out to the family and friends. A great loss to Knox County Sheriff Office.

Dean was a senior in high school my freshmen year. He was always so kind and friendly to this nerdy little freshmen girl. I've never forgotten his kindness and friendship. Thoughts and prayers for his family in the days ahead. May he rest in peace

I'm not sure where to begin. It's hard to believe it's been 14 years since we met and worked side by side for so long and now you are gone. These last few days I can tell the difference at the jail for me because it isnt the same not seeing him coming out of that door saying something like you mean they are still letting you come in here or she dont need that Booking sheet she aint gonna write that bond. Always made me smile. Never had nothing negative to say. Officer Dozier spread your wings and fly high because your watch over us is just beginning. We know you will watching and trying your best to guide us. You will be missed terribly.

My love, we just found each other and it was the most amazing  6 months of my life.  The boys and I will forever miss you and we will miss your smile, your laughter, the way you lit up our world.  I will promise to live the life you always wanted me and the boys to have.    We will miss you and love you and i promise we will meet again!!!

When we grew up together, you were my self appointed big brother. Always wanting to take care of me. You had the biggest heart and always made sure I was smiling. I still have the letters you sent me. I'll treasure them. I hope you're at peace and I pray God will surround your family with peace. Until next time, my dear friend.

I can't remember a day that Dean ever complained or said anything negative.  He always made you feel happy and made the work environment better.  I am honored to have worked with him at KCJ.  Prayers for his family as I know this is such a difficult time for all.  Rest in Peace, you were an awesome officer, friend and co-worker.

Love you and miss you brother. You were one of the truest friends a man could ever want, with the smile that lights up a room, and humor that sometimes only you and me understood.  The time we spent in master control, the endless phone conversations, us fixing my Taurus (well, mostly you, I was there to hold your drink).  Memories of you will never fade. One day the boot to the head brigade will be back together. Until I see you again, my brother, you will be deeply missed.  Red and Happy Feet send our love, support, and prayers to your family during this tragic time. 

It was a pleasure to work with Dean my last year at the sheriff's office.  I got to know a great guy who will undoubtedly be missed more than he ever could have imagined he would be.

Dean will never be forgotten. He never failed to have a humorous or encouraging word for those he loved. I cant believe he is gone but I was blessed to call him my friend. He helped me through a very rough time in my life and I will forever be grateful. My prayers are with the family as you face this long and difficult road. I can honestly say that he took a piece of my heart with him.
