Dorothy Jean Goan Davis, "Grandmother, Grandmama and Mother” are the names for our sweet Dot Davis who peacefully left this world June 4, 2019 at her home at the age of 91. Her legacy of faith lives within us as her example showed us how to love well, to give generously and to show grace. Dot was saved and baptized at South Knoxville Baptist Church at the age of 6. She was a lifelong member of Sevier Heights Baptist Church since October 1946. Her life was a mission through teaching the Light Bearers Sunday School Class and serving through Women's Missionary Union, working side by side with her husband at Colonial Cleaners where she ministered to so many for nearly 60 years, and loving her family so dearly. She is preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Richard Davis; parents, George and Myrtle Goan; brothers, John and George David Goan. She is survived by daughters, Brenda Tenpenny (Jimmy) and Deborah Carr (Jack); three grandchildren: Wendy Tenpenny Erwin, Michael Tenpenny (Angela), and Jennifer Lash Anders (Brad); seven great-grandchildren: Anna Kate Tenpenny, Lauren Tenpenny, Grace Anne Erwin, Katherine Erwin, Elijah Erwin, Sophia Erwin, and Addison Anders; sisters, Helen Margaret Oakes and Marilyn Miller (Bill) and brother, Gene Goan (Charlene) and many nieces and nephews. The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to special caregivers Cathy Davis and Vena Parrott. The family will receive friends 2-4 PM Friday, June 7, 2019 at Berry Funeral Home, 3704 Chapman Highway with a celebration of life service to follow at 4 PM. Dr. Hollie Miller and Rev.
