Caldwell, Dorothy Virginia, age 86, of Seymour, went to be with her Lord on Sunday, January 8, 2012 at Loudon Healthcare Center. She is preceded in death by her parents, Albert West and Stella Abbott; sisters, Alberta Vinsant, Hazel Bennett and Blanche Quinn; brothers, James West and Roy West; daughter, Stella Bennett Brookshire. Left behind to cherish her memory are daughters and sons-in-law, Linda Kay Chance of Knoxville; Alberta and Henry Trentham; Susan and James Lakin, both of Seymour; sons and daughters-in-law, Ray and Carolyn Caldwell of Knoxville; Clark and Bonnie Caldwell of Knoxville; sister and brother-in-law, Mildred and Kingsley Gorman of Severn, Maryland. She is the beloved grandmother of nine grandchildren, Marshall Trentham, Michell Nelms, Connie French, Aliesha Fox, Joey Chance, Shannon Snelson, Jeff Trentham, Scott Caldwell and Heather Russell; fourteen great-grandchildren and two great great-grandchildren. Dorothy is retired from the University of Tennessee Medical Center where she worked for over thirty years. She is of the Pentecostal faith and a devout Christian. Her sweet, loving spirit will be greatly missed by all who knew her. The family will receive friends, Tuesday, January 10, 2012 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Berry Funeral Home, Chapman Hwy. A funeral service will follow with Rev. Terry Parton officiating. The eulogy will be given by grandson, Jeff Trentham. Family and friends will meet at Knob Creek Cemetery on Wednesday, January 11, 2012 at 10:45 a.m. for graveside services at 11:00 a.m. The family would like to give a special thanks to Loudon Health Center for giving their mother such excellent care while she was there.
