Dorothy (Dot) Marie Padgett Arnold, aged 92, passed away Monday, March 14 at her home. Dot was born in 1929 in Delano, Tennessee and moved to Knoxville as a child. She graduated from Knoxville High School in 1947 and was awarded “Miss Commercial” for her senior class. At age 18 she began working at Life & Casualty Insurance Company (later acquired by American General) as a secretary/office manager for over 45 years until her retirement. Dot was a member of the former Euclid Avenue Baptist church for many, many years. Later she became a member of Wallace Memorial/Cumberland Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Jim Arnold as well as her parents, Carl and Jewell Padgett and four sisters. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Doug and Connie Arnold of Knoxville.
