Jenkins, Doris Jean Lawson, age 82 of Knoxville departed this life Friday, March 4, 2011 after extended Hospital and Hospice care. Doris was retired from Revco Drug Store and Chilhowee Pharmacy. She loved being surrounded by family, friends and those who called her Mom. She was the matriarch of the family and known as “one tough chick.” She joins in eternal peace, her parents, Walter and Mattie Dyer Lawson; brothers, Billy and Charles Lawson; daughter, Susan Jenkins; Grandson, Matthew Covington; step-brothers and sisters: Delmer, Ross and Junior Lawson, Glenda Luttrell, Gladys Lamb, Jessie Rudder and Margaret Walker. Those she has left to cherish the memories are her children: Gale Edwards, Frieda Jenkins, Cathy Jenkins and Matthew Klien, Eddie And Donna Jenkins, Kay and Carl Ellis, Tony Jenkins and Amy Robison; brother, Bob Lawson and Leone; sister, Wanda Adams; grandchildren, Amanda and Ambros Kirk, Sandra and Charlie Johnson, Blake Edwards, Jordan Edwards, Kaylee Jenkins, Craig and Becky Ellis, Kevin and Samantha Ellis, Ashley Byron, and Danny and Kristy Covington; great-grandchildren, Aulbri, Ava, Grace, Lawson, Amelia, Karissa, Joseph, Cyndra, Ciara, Adolfa, Ambros and Deven; and many precious nephews, nieces, cousins, friends and four legged friend Paco. The family will receive friends Tuesday, March 8, 2011 from 5-7 p.m. at McCarty-Evergreen. A Memorial Service will follow at 7 o’clock.
