French, Doris, 61, of Knoxville, entered her Heavenly Home on Thursday, October 24th, surrounded by her family, after a courageous battle with cancer. Long-time member of Glen Oak Baptist Church. For many years, she initiated the church prayer line and worked on the benevolence committee. She was always a willing and obedient servant of the Lord, working when others might not see a need. Matthew 9:37-38.
Preceded in death by mother, Gladys Nelson; brothers, Charles, Bill and Joe; sister, Trula. Survived by loving husband of 42 years, J.D. French; devoted daughters, Cherri Phillips (Frankie), Stephanie Gamble (Brian); treasured grandchildren, Kortney Davis (Jonathan), John Phillips, Shelby and Katelynn Gamble; great-grandchild Brynlee Davis; father, Howard Nelson; brothers, Wayne, Mike, Fred, Mark and Randy Nelson; sisters, Betty McGhee, Mary and Kathy Cooper, Glenna, Maggie and Beverly Nelson; special niece, Lea Jones; a host of nieces and nephews.

Family will receive friends at Weaver Funeral Home, Saturday, 5 to 7 pm, followed by a Celebration of Life Service, Brother Charlie Reynolds and Ronnie Dotson officiating.
