Donna Parrott

Donna Parrott, age 89, of Knoxville, Tennessee passed away on Tuesday, January 17, 2023. Donna was born in 1933 in Hereford, Texas. She met her husband, Robert, on The Queen Mary and were married 12 months later. Donna has a Bachelor's Degree in education from Hardin-Simmons University and a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Tennessee. She served as a teacher and an elementary school principal in Knox County Schools for 30 years. Donna was a member of the Ossoli Circle, Delta Kappa Gamma Sorority and she was involved in Peace, Equality and Order. Donna was a life master bridge player and taught bridge classes and competed in tournaments during her retirement. Donna was a breast cancer survivor and supported breast cancer research in hopes of a cure.

Donna is preceded in death by her parents, Owen and Lillie Stagner. She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Rev. Robert E. Parrott; daughter, Leslie H. Parrott (Daisy); son, Robert "Crit" Parrott (Stephanie); brother, Wayne Stagner (Elaine); grandchildren, Ashley Vann (Dennis), Kristin Parrott (John), Alex Parrott (Katie), Ben Parrott along with niece, Cindy Flowers and nephew, Bart Stagner.

A visitation will be held for Donna on Friday, January 20, 2023 at 3pm at Church Street UMC, 900 Henley Street with a funeral service to follow at 4pm.
